Gordon Watt, P. Eng , 1989, has extensive experience in challenging project management roles across industries, as well as leading product development and achieving sustainable results , through roles in engineering, operations, and quality that have involved LEAN and Six Sigma methods.
From 2013-2021 Gordon was the senior PM for large projects at Handling Specialty Manufacturing Limited in rail, aerospace, and nuclear energy industries. Successfully completed projects involving large scale material handling equipment included - scissor lifts, four post lifts and MGVs/AGVs used in automation environments.
Senior operations and quality roles during 11 years at CLOROX corp. required mastering Lean Manufacturing methods as well as leading matrixed teams remotely at several centres in the USA.Gord was also a key leader in mitigating regulatory compliance issues in three of five divisions. Products supported included STP, Armorall, Clorox cleaning products and Brita filters.
As a program manager at General Electric – CAMCO Gord was a key designer and led the design-manufacture-quality group, to develop a portion of patented French door and bottom mount refrigerators of the type commonly sold today. Multiple Six Sigma projects were executed across the development of dozens of molded, stamped, extruded, roll formed part and assembly tools and equipment purchased around the world.
Other experience includes Quality management at Bombardier Aerospace, and numerous electrical equipment and electro-mechanical products design and launch.
